Hello friend

One of my favourite genres of fiction novels is Amish themed. When you add a bit of romance and a dash of mystery/suspense it often will end up on my “To Be Read” (TBR) pile. My TBR pile is overflowing and I seem to continuously add to it.  I find reading to be a great way to wind down at the end of the day and it is one of my most often used stress management techniques.

I am pretty sure that you have heard of Harlequin Romances. Have you heard of Harlequin’s Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense line? These are stories that point to faith, forgiveness and hope. They encourage healthy relationships and have an element of living a God centred life. The Suspense line features characters whose faith is central to solving mysteries and often saving lives.

Guarding The Amish Midwife

I recently read one of these books written by Dana R. Lynn called “Guarding The Amish Midwife”. It is the sixth book in the “Amish Country Justice series”. This book can be read without reading any of the other ones in the series.

Dana is a best-selling author of 14 novels and I have read and enjoyed many of them. She writes romantic suspense novels for the Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line of books. Dana has won various writers awards and in addition to writing she is a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing. To learn more about Dana R. Lynn and her books click on the link danarlynn

Lizzy Finds Herself in Danger

Guarding The Amish Midwife is about Lizzy, an Amish women who is traveling to see her pregnant cousin in order to help her with the birth of her baby. Lizzy has hired a driver to take her, however her regular driver sends her brother instead. Although Lizzy is hesitant she decides to go with the new driver. On the way to her cousins she witnesses a murder and her life drastically changes. She is now in danger as someone is after her to silence her forever.

Lizzy Encounters Issac

During her fleeing from the danger she is in she encounters Issac, a former Amish man who left The Amish faith and became an English police officer. Issac and Lizzy had an immediate connection and Issac has a strong desire to protect Lizzy. Protecting her is no small task and Issac winds up taking Lizzy to his old community while the killer is still on the loose. This also leads Issac into having to confront some of his past and do some healing of his own.

Guessing Till The End

This is not your typical Amish novel and it has plenty of action that keeps you guessing (I was up late at night captivated by it). The relationship between Issac and Lizzy is full of respect and longing for each other. Can Issac keep her safe until the killer can be caught? Do Issac and Lizzy has a future together since they are now in two different “worlds”?

The suspense started early one and continued to the very last few pages. I don’t often give 10/10 ratings, however this one earned all 10/10.

Blessings 💞💞💞
